I don't think it's really an option, but gives RJ a bit more leverage

Yes it is an option. The guy doesn't want to be in Columbus. Just look at the original offer from Johansen, he was looking for a deal that would lock him up until he was FA eligible. Once his agent started to come around to the idea of a 2 year bridge deal the $ per term went up. If he takes the one year deal, he gets paid to play and after that season is over Jackets will cave because they missed the playoffs this season.

if he doesn't want to play in columbus then he should cut this chicken crap out and ask for trade instead of utterly wasting managements time, his agent is coming back with offers so yeah i don't think he wants out

maybe true, maybe.

BUT,

KHL is also a step down from NHL hockey, much more dangerous to fly in Russia than NAmerica. Unless he and Kovi have a man crush going on I don't see it happening!

Your source questions whether or not playing in the KHL is the best move for Johansen right now? What a scoop! This is the type on inside information I come here for!

He'd look great on the Leafs. If somehow Bozak + Franson + (maybe a first and Percy?) is enough then Shanny and Nonis need to get it done!

Trick them into CLarky? They were stupid enough to take Hartnell. But yeah I would do it.

You're only going to get poop back for Clarkson, may as well go with the dump you know. The Leafs need to focus on building a gameplan and finding the situations to make Clarkson an effective NHL player again. I'd like to see him on the third line banging with Holland and Komarov. Play Frattin with Kadri and Lupul.

C'mon the guy has only been in the league 3 years, he doesn't have the right to demand a trade. Given how the situation has gone public the jackets wouldn't even receive any fair value offers for him. When I say he doesn't want to play there I don't mean he hates it there. I mean he is willing to be there until he can leave but he wants to be paid well to stay.

It was the same thing with Gustufsson on Philly. He didn't demand a trade nor was it about the money, he just left because he wanted to play and he wasn't going to get that on Philly and to be honest he was never good enough to make the team to begin with. He was poor defensively and undersized.

Sorry Blue Jackets fans. If Eks sources aren't buying it he will likely be bound for Russia within a week. Sucks, since when did players coming off their ELC feel entitled to ask for 5+ mil after one good year?

for the last time, he's not going to vancouver. pretty sure even at the age of 21 he still really wants a chance at winning the cup.

He can go to Toronto, best chance at winning the cup.

Kadri, Kessel, and a 1st should get it done.

His chances of winning the Stanley cup are probably better playing in the KHL, than if he got traded to TO

Doesn't give him leverage at all. I bet Davidson says go ahead and take it if you want. He knows its nothing more than a bluff.
